What to know

It is crucial to know and understand all the information prior to getting your cosmetic tattoo to ensure you are a suitable candidate. Please read through the pre & post care information to ensure you are prepared for your appointment.

Before Your Appointment

  • Avoid caffeine and alcohol 24 hours prior
  • Avoid taking any Dispirin/Aspirin or Ibuprofen 24 hours prior
  • Cease any blood thinning medications 5 days beforehand (please consult your doctor)
  • Avoid Fish Oil and Vitamin C tablets one week prior
  • Refrain from any Botox, fillers, facials or peels 3 weeks prior (4 weeks for lip fillers)
  • Avoid using any anti-aging skin care products on the area 3 weeks prior
  • Discontinue use of any hair growth serums 3 months prior (this can affect colour retention)
  • Eyelash extensions must be removed at least a day before (for eyeliner tattooing only)
  • Lip Tattooing Only – Start taking an anti viral table 2 weeks prior to minimise any cold sore breakouts
  • HYDRATE! Hydrated skin is much better to work on and provides a better end result

After Your Appointment

  • Ensure to keep your cosmetic tattoo dry for 5 days
  • Apply aftercare ointment 3 times a day until healded (this will be provided)
  • Excessive sweating and swimming must be avoided for 10 days
  • Do not pick, pull or scratch the treated area
  • Avoid direct sunlight for 2 weeks after as this can cause pigment discolouration
  • Refrain from Botox and Fillers 4 weeks after your appointment
  • Avoid the use of anti-acing (specifically Hyralonic Acid, and Retinol creams) on the treated area.
  • Further specific details will be given to you at your appoinment

Contraindications

  • We are unable to perform cosmetic tattooing on pregnant women.
  • Please contact me prior if you have any heart conditions
  • Whilst eyebrow tattoing is amazing for cancer patients it is absolutely vital to get your doctors approval before we proceed (we cannot proceed whilst undergoing chemo)
  • Skin issues (Excema, Dermatitis, Rosacea etc) can sometimes be worked with however please contact me prior to discuss
  • Some Auto Immune Diseases can affect how the pigment retains, please contact me prior
  • If you suffer from Keloid Scarring it is not advisable for you to proceed with cosmetic tattooing
  • Diabetes can sometimes cause an issue/delay with the healing process
  • Please contact me prior if you are taking any regular medications
  • People under the age of 18 will not be considered
